QUALIFICATIONS

B. Iuris, LLB, Certificate of Legislative Drafting

RESUME

Having matriculated, Nakedi attended the University of the North (Turfloop) and graduated with a B Iuris and LLB degrees. He further obtained a Certificate in Legislative Drafting from the University of Johannesburg. He read for an LLM degree at the University of Cape Town and passed the following courses : Tax Law, Advanced Company Law and Transitional Law. He was admitted as an advocate in 2005.

He commenced articles of clerkship with diverse firms of attorneys from 1997.

He then joined the Military Legal Services Division of the South African National Defence Force in 2002 as a Military Law Practitioner where he was appointed as a Defence Counsel.

In 2004, Nakedi joined the Department of Health and Social Development as a Manager – Legal Services.

He was promoted into the Senior Management Services at the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA). He oversaw the drafting, implementation and overall management of the social grants payments and infrastructure provision agreements. Nakedi was reassigned as head of Legal Services for SASSA’s Mpumalanga Region in 2011. He was responsible for provision of legal advice, handling commercial and labour litigation and other civil suits.

He joined the Bar in 2018. Nakedi has carried out investigations at Lepelle Northern Water SOE Limited, Ditsobotla Local Municipality and Pikitup SOC Limited.

He has recently completed the arbitration course at The Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa/University of Pretoria that includes Arbitration, Mediation and Labour Arbitration.
