During December 2024,Adv D Moodliyar spearheaded  an urgent bail application pending appeal to the SCA for a high profile, innocent man namely: Jayson Ramsammy.

During November 2024, Jayson Ramsammy’s leave to appeal on conviction and sentence had been refused in the Palmridge  Magistrate Court and the Johannesburg High Court. Advocate D Moodliyar faced a insurmountable hurdle to obtain bail under these circumstances however used the case law and right to freedom to trump all technical issues . On the 16th December 2024 Jayson Ramsammy was granted bail pending appeal by Judge Kuny.
